First + Second Week of College

I finally got my new laptop soooooo here is the long awaited update about my life that I know hundreds of millions of people have been dying to see. I can't lie, I've been dying to write it.

Okay, I'll start with move in day. I came day early so that my sister and I could have a seamless transition which means I spent the night in my dorm room all by my lonesome. Please, feel bad for me. My school has curfew for the first two months so, I nearly missed that but I made it. I wasn't outside being crazy and having fun, I fell asleep too early. I'm lame, I get it.

The next day, my roomie arrived (#lovethatgirl) and we pretty much hit off immediately. We were texting for a little bit before but only to get logistical stuff in order, nothing crazy. Our room is absolutely adorable and if I weren't afraid of pedophiles finding me, I would totally show you guys. Unfortunately, you'll just have to use your imagination.

Fast forward a few days, I attend my first real college party. Total snoozer and I now hate the venue it was at. But, we move forward. I got all my classes squared away, got ran around by admin while trying to switch my major, sweated bullets because I stupidly chose a school in the South, and eventually figured everything out.

I finally got my student ID (thankfully before they started locking everything). I went to another party, a frat party, where a fight broke out between the frats and I was very close to it when it happened. I even got a video.

Sidenote: I L-O-V-E HBCU strolling.

Back to the update, I went on a Target run and replenished my snack drawer because I was running low, the freshman class had our induction ceremony, classes have officially started giving out work (I guess I love journalism), and the days just keep getting longer.

I'm in desperate need of real food.

The chocolate soft serve in the dining hall just got back to working, my friends (the cookie fairies) came over with Halloween themed cookies and then ended up getting early curfew with their entire dorm (not their fault) but it's okay.

We went to the beach for Labor Day, I got assigned a project for my University 101 class, and now I am typing vigorously in this entry before I rise from the past five hours spent writing my new screenplay and go make ramen noodles for dinner.

College is exactly as advertised.

All in all, these last two weeks of school have been such a different experience than I'm used to. It's early but I am already learning new things about myself and I really hope that doesn't stop any time soon.

If you have just started school, which I assume everyone has, I just want to say that this year and the next years to come will be your greatest. It doesn't matter if you're in middle school, high school, or about to graduate college. You are ready and you know you're ready.

If it's all right with you, this is going to be the end of this entry so, please, please, please stay frosty, YBG.
