I’m determined to write at least semi-frequently and not going over the 1-month mark feels within range so, here’s my update.
I went to my senior prom, had terrible food, refused to dance, and took a bunch of pictures of myself. I think it was a phenomenal night. In detail, I’m a vegetarian and the only options for food were bacon and ham pizza (eugh), tiny sliders with one comically large pickle slice, and chicken tenders. The fries I had weren’t bad but given that it was my dinner for the night, -3/10.
Onto dancing, I’m not really a gather-in-a-circle kind of person and I definitely wasn’t about to get in the middle. It was fun to watch from afar though. I even saw someone crowd surfing.
And, I fully admit to taking pictures of myself the whole night because I did look scarily gorgeous. I took pictures with a few other people at this photo booth mirror which was nice. We got to print them out and keep them.
Next, my sourdough journey. Technically, this started earlier in April but I’ve only just begun to let it take over my life. As of this very moment, I have had three sourdough starters. The first one (R.I.P Peggy) was sadly cooked in the oven when my mother preheated it without knowing anything was inside. The second one (R.I.P Kelly) caught an unfortunate case of mold. I don’t even know how that happened.
My current, and hopefully last daughter is called Opal. I’ve had her for about seven days now and I handed the responsibility of feeding her to my mother for the last three days. Fingers crossed she survives because if not, what a massive waste of flour.
In my absence, my friends and I have been finding ourselves everywhere but inside. Over the weekend, I managed to rack up a combined 25,295 steps. I think that is a weekend well spent.
During the week, I made macarons (sort of) but I never actually got around to making the cream. If the amount of homework and scholarships I have stacked up don’t crush me, expect a picture soon.
Despite the small enjoyment I get from school, the senioritis is stupidly close to consuming me. I’m hanging on by a pinky nail. The only thing making me feel better is listening to Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Phenomenal song.
So, that’s been my life recently. If anyone was wondering because I’m one million percent sure you were, I’m in the process of rewriting my book for the first time. And if you don’t care then this is the end.
Stay frosty, YBG
